John Rolfe Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced, compassionate, and dependable Full-Time Veterinary Assistant to join our team. We are committed to providing exceptional medical care while creating a welcoming and supportive environment for both our patients and their families.
The ideal candidate is a motivated team player who thrives in a fast-paced veterinary practice, has a strong work ethic, and is passionate about providing outstanding patient care. Previous veterinary assistant experience is required. Experience with Cornerstone Veterinary Software is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians with examinations, treatments, and procedures.
- Safely restrain dogs and cats for exams, diagnostics, and treatments.
- Prepare exam rooms, treatment areas, and surgical suites.
- Collect patient histories and communicate effectively with clients.
- Perform laboratory sample collection and assist with in-house diagnostics.
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by the veterinarian.
- Take radiographs and assist with imaging procedures (experience preferred).
- Maintain accurate patient medical records using Cornerstone Veterinary Software.
- Clean, disinfect, and stock exam rooms, treatment areas, and equipment.
- Work collaboratively with the veterinary team to provide exceptional patient care and client service.
Qualifications
- Previous veterinary assistant experience is required.
- Experience with Cornerstone Veterinary Software is strongly preferred.
- Excellent communication and client service skills.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Compassionate, dependable, detail-oriented, and a team player.
- Comfortable handling and restraining animals of all sizes and temperaments.
- Ability to lift and assist with animals weighing up to 50 pounds, with assistance for larger patients when needed.

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
