Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and bilingual Caregiver/Homemaker who is fluent in both Spanish and English to provide exceptional support to individuals in need of personal care, companionship, and household assistance. This energetic role involves working closely with clients to promote their well-being, safety, and independence within their homes or community settings. Duties
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using proper patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts when necessary
- Monitor patients’ health by taking vital signs, observing for changes, and reporting findings accurately to healthcare professionals
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs and assist with medication administration following care plans and HIPAA regulations
- Provide companionship and emotional support, engaging clients in conversation and activities to promote mental well-being
- Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning, laundry, and organization of living spaces
- Support clients with transportation needs for appointments or errands, ensuring safe personal transportation assistance
- Document patient progress, update care plans, and communicate effectively with healthcare teams regarding patient status
Experience
- Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly preferred
- Demonstrated ability to observe patients carefully and respond appropriately to changes in condition or behavior
- Experience with dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, memory care, or neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism or intellectual disabilities support is advantageous
- Knowledge of patient monitoring techniques including vital signs measurement and patient transfer methods like Hoyer lifts or manual handling techniques
- Familiarity with HIPAA compliance, medication administration protocols, first aid, CPR certification, and basic nursing skills is essential
- Background in geriatrics or long-term care settings enhances your ability to provide comprehensive senior care
- Ability to communicate effectively in both Spanish and English ensures clear interaction with diverse clients and families
