Union/MIX/Zoom Recording Studios are seeking motivated and reliable Studio Assistants to help with studio rental openings, equipment setup, and occasional cleaning/reset tasks. This freelance/contractor opportunity is perfect for someone eager to use a professional recording studio for free while networking with engineers, producers, and artists. We're looking for someone who wants to spend time at the studio at during, immersing themselves in the studio environment while assisting with rental openings and enjoying free studio access.
Priority service windows:
Weekday Daytime:
- Monday 9 AM – 5 PM
- Wednesday 9 AM – 5 PM
- Plus at least TWO of: Tue / Thu / Fri 9 AM – 3 PM
AND/OR:
Weekend + Evenings
- Saturday 12 PM – 2AM
- Sunday 12 PM – 2AM
There is no guaranteed minimum number of assignments. Contractors must provide their own availability in advance and are responsible for completing accepted assignments according to the agreed checklist and completion standards.
What You’ll Get:

What You’ll Do:
- Assist with studio rental openings (set up equipment, test connections, greet clients)
- Keep the studio clean and ready for the next session
- Answer basic client questions about the studio and assist with simple tasks
- Enjoy studio time at no charge when rooms are available

Our studios are open 24/7. It's a freelance/contractor position.
Qualifications:
- Recording and Mixing basic knowledge;
- Basic Pro Tools knowledge (all candidates will be tested during an interview);
- Familiar with Logic X, Ableton, FL Studio;
- Audio and signal flow understanding;
- Proficient on MacOs computers;
- Must be available for evening/night time and weekends and live within 10 miles of Hollywood/Downtown Los Angeles;
- Reliable with good time management skills;
- Team player;
- Adaptable to a fast-paced environment;
- Experience in Video Shooting / Editing is a plus;
- All around passionate for audio and music.
