Location: El Segundo, CA
Summary:
The DB2 Database Administrator works as part of the IS Operations team to support Unix-based DB2 database applications. Database tuning, automation scripting, new server sizing and deployment, DB2 software package installation and management, and process and planning documentation are the primary responsibilities of this position.
Knowledge and/or Skills:
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- DB2 database performance tuning skills and a solid knowledge of distributed architectures.
- Knowledge of TCP/IP and client/server networking and troubleshooting.
- Experience administering DB2 in AIX (primarily) and Linux (secondarily) operating environments.
- Familiarity with AS400 OS and DB2 on AS400.
- Experience with or exposure to E.Piphany and WebSphere a plus.
- Excellent customer service attitude.
- Ability to lift and carry 40 pounds.
Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor degree from a four year college or university and 4+ years' experience as a DB2 Database Admin OR equivalent combination of education and experience as a DB2 Database Admin.
