NuvaMom is an on-demand postpartum beauty company serving mothers in South Miami hospitals and homes. Our mission is to help moms feel refreshed, supported, and confident during one of the most important moments of their lives.
We provide luxury hairstyling services directly to new and expecting mothers in hospitals, private residences, and condominiums throughout South Miami, creating a convenient and elevated beauty experience during the postpartum journey.
We are currently seeking talented, dependable, and compassionate hairstylists to join our growing team.
Position Overview
This is a 1099 Independent Contractor position that operates on an on-call, appointment-based schedule.
NuvaMom provides services daily between 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM, with the last appointment scheduled at 6:00 PM.
Appointments are scheduled based on client demand and are not guaranteed each day.
When an appointment request is received:
- NuvaMom will first contact the hairstylist to confirm availability.
- Once the hairstylist confirms availability, NuvaMom will confirm the appointment with the client.
- Hairstylists are expected to be responsive and available during NuvaMom's operating hours.
This position is ideal for professionals seeking flexibility while being part of a growing luxury brand.
Responsibilities
- Travel to hospitals, homes, condominiums, and private residences throughout South Miami.
- Provide luxury hairstyling services in a calm, supportive, and professional environment.
- Perform services including:
- Blowouts
- Soft waves and curls
- Dry styling and refresh services
- Ponytails
- Half-up styles
- Simple hair touch-ups
- Create a positive and memorable experience for every client.
- Maintain clear communication regarding appointment availability.
- Arrive on time and prepared for each appointment.
Required Qualifications
Applicants must have:
- An active Florida Cosmetology License
- A minimum of 2 years of professional hairstyling experience
- Experience working with various hair types and textures
- Strong blowout and styling skills
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- A professional appearance and demeanor
- The ability to work independently
- A compassionate, friendly, and dependable personality
Availability Requirements (Mandatory)
This is an on-call position.
Applicants must be consistently available during NuvaMom operating hours (8:00 AM - 6:00 PM) and willing to accept appointments as they arise.
Hairstylists must:
- Be responsive to appointment requests
- Have flexibility in their daily schedules
- Be comfortable accepting appointments on short notice
- Be available to travel throughout South Miami
Please note: This role may not be suitable for hairstylists who currently maintain a full-time salon schedule with limited daytime availability.
Transportation Requirements (Mandatory)
Applicants must have:
- A reliable personal vehicle
- A valid driver's license
- Active personal auto insurance
- The ability and willingness to travel throughout South Miami
Travel is an essential part of this position.
Insurance Requirements (Mandatory)
All hairstylists are required to maintain:
- Active professional liability insurance
- Proof of insurance prior to onboarding
- Insurance coverage that remains active while working with NuvaMom
