Insight Global is seeking an experienced Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) Manager to support a large-scale data center construction project in Uptown Charlotte. This individual will serve as a key safety leader onsite, partnering with project leadership, subcontractors, and client stakeholders to ensure a world-class safety culture throughout all phases of construction.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in commercial, industrial, mission-critical, or data center construction environments and is passionate about driving proactive safety practices, regulatory compliance, and incident prevention.
Responsibilities
- Lead implementation and enforcement of project-specific safety policies, procedures, and client safety requirements.
- Conduct daily site inspections, audits, hazard assessments, and safety observations.
- Facilitate new hire orientations, safety training, toolbox talks, and ongoing workforce education.
- Review and approve Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs), Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), permits, and high-risk work plans.
- Perform incident investigations, root-cause analysis, and corrective action tracking.
- Partner with project managers, superintendents, subcontractors, and client representatives to drive a proactive safety culture.
- Monitor compliance with OSHA regulations, company standards, and site-specific requirements.
- Track safety metrics, prepare reports, and communicate performance trends to leadership.
- Coach field personnel on best practices related to fall protection, electrical safety, confined space, excavation, crane operations, and other high-risk activities.
- Participate in project planning meetings to ensure safety requirements are incorporated into construction activities.
Required Qualifications
Either:
- 5+ years of full-time EH&S experience in construction, industrial, manufacturing, or mission-critical environments with professional certifications, including CHST, CSP, OSHA-510, OSHA-500, or equivalent
OR
- 10+ years of full-time EH&S experience in construction or industrial safety leadership roles
Additionally:
- OSHA 30 Certification
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety standards
- Experience conducting site audits, incident investigations, and safety training
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Ability to build relationships with project teams while maintaining accountability
Preferred Qualifications
- CHST and/or CSP certification
- OSHA-510 and/or OSHA-500 certification
- 10+ years of EH&S experience
- Experience leading safety programs at the project or program level
- Data center, mission-critical, semiconductor, or large-scale industrial construction experience
- Experience supporting projects exceeding $100M in construction value
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
- Strong understanding of energized work, commissioning, and MEP construction activities
Pay: $50.00 - $65.00 per hour
