Job Overview
We are seeking a diligent and dependable Maintenance / Janitorial Worker to uphold the cleanliness and safety of our facility. The ideal candidate will possess experience in custodial tasks, industrial cleaning, and basic maintenance procedures. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to a well-maintained environment that supports the health and well-being of our patients and staff.
Duties
- Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and disinfecting all areas of the facility.
- Handle chemical agents safely while performing cleaning and sanitation duties, adhering to safety protocols.
- Operate floor buffers and other custodial equipment to maintain high standards of floor care and buffing.
- Conduct light maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs, fixing minor repairs, and ensuring facilities are in optimal condition.
- Assist with heavy lifting activities using proper safe lifting practices to move furniture, supplies, or equipment as needed.
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and notify management when supplies need replenishing.
- Follow established procedures for industrial cleaning and custodial services to ensure compliance with health standards.
Experience
- Prior custodial or janitorial experience in commercial, residential, or industrial settings is preferred.
- Familiarity with cleaning techniques involving chemical agents and proper handling procedures.
- Experience operating floor buffers, carpet cleaners, or other custodial machinery is advantageous.
- Knowledge of facilities maintenance tasks such as minor repairs or painting is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to perform manual handling tasks safely while adhering to safety guidelines.
- Previous porter or maintenance roles that involved heavy lifting or industrial cleaning will be considered an asset.
