JOB SUMMARY:
The Assistant LEAPS Director supports the LEAPS Director in the planning, implementation, supervision, and evaluation of the LEAPS after-school and summer programs. This position helps ensure that all program operations are conducted in compliance with grant requirements, organizational policies, and state regulations while providing a safe, engaging, and high-quality learning environment for youth and families.
Key Responsibilities
Program Operations
- Assist in the daily operation of LEAPS after-school / Summer
- Support the implementation of academic enrichment, STEM, arts, recreation, and social-emotional learning activities.
- Ensure program activities align with LEAPS grant objectives and performance measures.
- Monitor program schedules, attendance, and participant engagement.
- Assist with special events, family engagement activities, field trips, and student showcases.
Staff Supervision and Support
- Assist in supervising Youth Development Specialists (YDS), and Youth Development Professionals (YDP).
- Support staff onboarding, training, coaching, and professional development.
- Monitor staff performance and provide feedback to ensure program quality.
- Ensure staff compliance with attendance and organizational policies.
Grant Compliance and Data Management
- Assist with maintaining compliance with LEAPS grant requirements.
- Monitor student enrollment, attendance, and participation data.
- Support data entry and reporting through systems such as Transact, MyClubHub, and other required platforms.
- Assist in preparing grant reports, program evaluations, and documentation for monitoring visits.
- Ensure student records, permissions, and required documentation are accurate and up to date.
- Assist in OCFS guidelines and requirements
- Support student recruitment and retention effort
- Assist with maintaining accurate program files and records.
Health, Safety, and Compliance
- Ensure a safe and supportive environment for all participants.
- Monitor compliance with organizational, school district, OCFS, and Department of Health regulations.
- Assist with emergency preparedness procedures and incident reporting.
- Ensure staff maintain required certifications and training.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Social Work, Human Services, Youth Development, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working in youth development, after-school programs, or educational settings.
- Experience supervising staff and managing programs preferred.
- Knowledge of grant-funded programs and compliance requirements preferred.
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and data management systems.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and occasional weekends.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to move throughout program site
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to participate in indoor and outdoor program activities.
Work Schedule
- Primarily Monday–Friday Part Time 1pm to 6pm after school
- Summer hours may vary

Pay: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour
