- Employs a variety of instructional strategies, such as inquiry, group discussion, demonstration, discovery, etc.
- Establishes and maintains appropriate records of academic and behavioral data
- Applies and implements eligibility criteria for determining which students will be supported through MTSS, and
for what period(s) of progress monitoring
- Progress monitors students to determine progression toward individualized learning goals, while adjusting
strategies/interventions as necessary, and ensuring students receive the correct level of program support
- Evaluates students’ academic and social growth, keeps appropriate records, and prepares progress reports
- Identifies student needs and cooperates with other professional staff members in assessing and helping students
reach the highest levels of learning
- Maintains professional competence through in-service education activities provided by professional growth
activities
- Provides individualized programming and supports to meet the unique individual needs of students
- Facilitates and leads in intervention efforts
- Works closely with principal to serve the needs of students, faculty and parents
- Serves as an integral member of the core Intervention Team
- Works with classroom teachers in a mutually supportive, collegial, co-teaching environment
- Provides training and guidance to parents
- Provides professional development, resources, and training to classroom teachers. Seeks out opportunities for
professional development for teachers and staff
- Serves as a teacher leader
- Manages the building leveled library
- Serves as the building test coordinator, role that includes ordering, test security, scheduling, and data reporting
- Manages and assists in interpreting instructional data with teachers and parents
- Contributes to School Improvement and building goal efforts
- Engages in professional growth activities through an ongoing program of job-related knowledge and skill
development
- Maintains a safe and supportive learning environment for students
- Contributes and participates in efforts related to school and District goals
- Takes direction from the building and District administration
