Job Summary
About Port-A-Go
Port-A-Go is a growing portable sanitation and waste services company supporting construction, industrial, and event customers. We operate like an owner-led, hands-on business and are looking for a Sales Operations Manager in Nashville who is comfortable on the phone, in the field, and working with branch leadership to keep customers happy and accounts current.
This is not a back-office, spreadsheet-only role. You’ll be talking with customers, helping fix service issues, supporting collections, and spending time in the field when needed.
What you’ll do
Customer calls & service coordination
- Answer inbound customer calls on location / main lines.
- Handle new orders, adds, placement changes, and service issues.
- Log calls with clear notes and route action items to the correct branch/operations leader.
- Spot patterns in customer concerns and flag them early.
Collections & A/R follow-up
- Partner with A/R and branch leadership on higher-touch or strategic accounts.
- Call customers about past-due balances, disputed invoices, and payment plans.
- Coordinate with sales and operations to resolve issues that are blocking payment.
- Maintain a simple weekly list of priority accounts with clear next steps.
Field & customer relationship work
- Visit key customers and jobsites to check service quality and placement.
- Occasionally ride along with drivers to understand route realities and customer expectations.
- Use what you see in the field to suggest route changes, service improvements, or scope adjustments.
Branch & sales operations support
- Help keep a clean view of the local sales pipeline and upcoming work.
- Ensure what’s being sold can realistically be serviced by the branch.
- Support Branch Managers and Operations Managers with communication, follow-up, and customer recovery efforts.
- Over time, help coach or support other customer service or coordinator staff as the branch grows.
What you bring
- 3+ years in customer service, branch operations, collections, account management, or sales support (service, logistics, rentals, construction, or waste industry a plus).
- Strong phone skills and the ability to handle customer issues with urgency and professionalism.
- Comfortable having firm but respectful conversations about payment and balances.
- Organized, good with follow-up, and able to juggle multiple customers and issues.
- Willing to spend time in the field, at jobsites, and occasionally in trucks.
- Proficient with email, basic Excel/Google Sheets, and general computer tools.
