Pay: $18.00 - $26.00 per hour (based on skill level and training needs; performance review and potential raise after 90 days)

About the Role:This is a full-time, hands-on entry-level position. You will receive training in everything you need to know to become a skilled Fiber Optic Splicer, including installation, splicing, testing, and maintenance of fiber optic networks. Travel and outdoor work are a regular part of this role.
Key Responsibilities (Training Focused):
- Learn to splice and terminate aerial and underground fiber optic cables
- Assist in assembling enclosures and equipment according to design specs
- Help install, test, activate, and troubleshoot fiber lines
- Support repairs in trenches, pedestals, and overhead lines
- Learn to use hand tools, ladders, and bucket trucks (up to 32 ft) safely
- Maintain organized inventory and complete daily documentation
- Observe and assist in diagnosing and resolving service interruptions
- Maintain clean, safe, and functional work vehicles and tools
- Complete job-related paperwork, logs, and reports accurately
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to pass a background check and DOT physical (medical card required)
- Physically able to lift up to 75 lbs, climb, kneel, and work at heights
- Comfortable working in all weather conditions
- No prior fiber splicing experience required – training provided
Skills & Qualifications:
- Mechanically inclined and eager to learn
- Basic computer skills and record-keeping
- Reliable, organized, and detail-oriented
- Able to work both independently and within a team
- Strong communication and time management skills
Schedule:
- 8–12 hour shifts
- Day shift, Monday to Friday
- Overtime opportunities may be available, especially during peak seasons
