Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Medical Billing Specialist to join our fast-paced Personal Injury team. This role is the vital link between our medical services and the legal firms we partner with. You won't just be "crunching numbers” you will be responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of medical evidence, ensuring every record is accurate, every CPT code is correct, and every attorney request is met with urgency.
Key Responsibilities
· Record Collection & Organization: Proactively gather medical records and from various providers to ensure case files are complete.
· Billing Creation: Generate accurate billing statements based on patient services and treatment plans.
· Attorney Liaison: Package comprehensive medical/billing bundles and deliver them to law firms according to specific litigation requirements.
· Request Management: Act as the primary point of contact for attorney offices, handling "Requests for Records" and status inquiries with professional speed.
· Data Integrity: Utilize CPT codes and ICD-10 terminology to ensure all billing reflects the services rendered accurately.
· Systems Management: Maintain meticulous data entry across multiple platforms, including EHR systems and Excel trackers.
Required Qualifications
· Experience: 1–3 years of experience in medical billing (Personal Injury or Workers' Comp experience is a major plus).
· Technical Savvy: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (sorting, filtering, basic formulas) and the ability to quickly learn new practice management software.
· Coding Knowledge: A solid understanding of CPT codes and their application in a clinical setting.
· Deadline Driven: Proven ability to manage a high volume of tasks in a fast-paced environment without sacrificing accuracy.
· Communication: Strong verbal and written skills for professional correspondence with legal teams (Spanish Bilingual is a plus).
