Description
We are seeking an experienced and reliable Truck Driver to join our team. This role is a dynamic mix of heavy equipment operation and hands-on manual teamwork. You will be responsible for operating a variety of construction vehicles, transporting materials safely under diverse road conditions, and directly contributing to the successful completion of road construction, maintenance, and repair projects.
Emergencies require 24-hour on-call.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Drive truck equipped with various configurations of dump body to transport and dump materials such as rock, asphalt, or other materials as needed.
- Proficiently load, transport, and facilitate the movement of equipment using tilt deck and lowboy trailers. Operate various vehicles and configurations as required adhering to all training requirements.
- Before each shift, inspect all truck equipment and required safety equipment (tires, lights, brakes, fluids, etc.) to ensure safe operation.
- Proactively submit maintenance requests for all necessary repairs.
- Maintain truck logs or time recordings as required by state, federal, and county policies and regulations.
- Assist with proper and legal loading of materials for transport as designated by the crew chief.
- Occasionally set tailgate chains for measured spreading delivery.
- Position blocks and/or tarps to secure load for transit.
- Load, unload, and secure equipment on various trailers using chains, ratchets, and binders.
- Perform post-trip vehicle inspections of all driven vehicles, moved equipment, and towed trailers, noting any defects or deficiencies in writing and submitting the written reports to the designated personnel.
- Perform all safety procedures required by governmental agencies and those established by Oklahoma County.
- May be sent to other facility locations and operations to perform duties as required.
- Other related duties as assigned, such as flagging traffic, pothole patching, moving, etc.
Experience
Must possess and maintain a valid Class B Oklahoma State Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with endorsements, and a safe driving record. At least one year of experience as a commercial driver.
Education Required
High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Must possess a minimum of three (3) years of demonstrated experience, and/or vocational training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
