Job Overview
The Lead Assistant plays a key role in supporting the daily operations of the dispensary. This position assists the Store Manager with supervision of staff, ensures compliance with state regulations, oversees product handling, and provides exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities
- Support the Store Manager with training, and oversight of the dispensary staff.
- Ensure all operations comply with state cannabis laws and company policies.
- Assists with overseeing the opening and closing procedures, including cash handling,
- Assist customers by providing product education, answering questions and making recommendations.
- Maintain a clean, organized and welcoming retail environment.
- Resolve Customer concerns in a professional and timely manner.
- Handle cash transactions with precision, maintaining accountability for cash handling procedures.
- Implement effective merchandising strategies to enhance product visibility and drive sales.
- Act as the point of contact in the absence of the Store Manager.
- Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, communication, and professional development.
Experience
The ideal candidate will have:
- Minimum of 2 years experience of retail or customer service experience.
- (Cannabis Industry Preferred)
- Prior experience in supervisory or lead role.
- Strong knowledge of cannabis products, strains, and consumption methods.
- (or willingness to learn.)
- Experience with point-of-sale (POS) systems and cash handling procedures.
- Bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus, enhancing communication with diverse customers.
- Excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail in merchandising practices.
- Proven leadership capabilities with experience in team management and training & development initiatives.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, along with effective phone etiquette.
- Detail-oriented with strong organization abilities.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Must be 21 years of age or older and able to pass all state required background checks.
