Location: Columbus, OH
Salary: $100K-$160K (salary depends on experience)
Job Overview
The Construction Superintendent oversees daily operations on the job site, from project planning through completion. This includes coordinating subcontractors, managing quality control and safety, and directing on-site teams.
Responsibilities
- Schedule and coordinate subcontractors, consultants, inspectors, and vendors to keep projects on time
- Monitor work and materials to ensure quality standards are met at each project stage
- Support subcontractors and communicate with the project team to ensure efficient execution
- Conduct or schedule inspections to meet site-specific safety and compliance requirements
- Maintain daily logs of site visitors, work performed, materials used, and issues resolved
- Manage multiple job sites and workloads simultaneously, including travel between locations
- Resolve problems and conflicts, coordinating with team members across roles as needed
- Maintain a clean, organized site that meets waste disposal and environmental standards
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience as a Superintendent with Heavy Civil, Highway projects
- Experience establishing and monitoring traffic control zones
- WTS certification in Ohio preferred, not required
- Strong prioritization and time management skills under pressure
- Effective communicator with subcontractors, vendors, and clients
- Willing to travel and work in varying weather conditions
- Working knowledge of Heavy Job, Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
