JOB SUMMARY
The Sr. Asset Analyst (SAA) serves as a lead analyst responsible for each aircraft in ACG’s fleet and plays a pivotal role in the efficient management of ACG’s portfolio of commercial aircraft. The SAA is expected to fully understand and analyze the current and forecasted condition of each asset and effectively communicate findings and insights to stakeholders across the company.
A successful SAA proactively identifies risk, maintains purchase-to-disposal maintenance cash flow forecasts, and recommends strategies to optimize asset returns. They independently assess and forecast ongoing maintenance conditions, manage and validate aircraft data with airline partners, and ensure accurate utilization reporting across the organization. By synthesizing data from multiple sources, the SAA estimates future maintenance timing, costs, exposure, and sale outcomes. The role requires strong analytical discipline and developing deep expertise in maintenance drivers, cash flows, and maintenance-adjusted valuations.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/DUTIES
-
Perform portfolio wide maintenance condition analysis on a quarterly basis, and aircraft-specific maintenance condition analysis as needed to support Trading or Risk-related initiatives. Identify and monitor portfolio-wide maintenance exposure, remaining green time, and forecast maintenance cashflows on a per-aircraft basis. Effectively communicate any findings through this exercise to stakeholders including Commercial teams, FP&A, Accounting, Technical, Pricing, and Risk.
-
Work with various team members from the Technical, FP&A, Finance, Legal, Aircraft Trading, and Marketing to develop appropriate forecast assumptions such as cost and timing of maintenance work to be performed. Continuously develop and maintain these key assumptions depending on changing market conditions.
-
Review monthly utilization data provided by airlines and ensure all information is accurately maintained in ACG’s data management system. Coordinate with the Technical team to ensure any changes in utilization are communicated and support requests for asset‑status information as needed. Collaborate with the Billing team to calculate monthly cash maintenance reserve amounts and coordinate with Risk to update any maintenance reserve letters of credit as needed.
-
Coordinate with airline operators to perform annual maintenance reserve reconciliation and rate escalation, manage maintenance reserve inflows and outflows, and calculate end of lease financial compensation and other maintenance related financial adjustments. Develop a strong relationship with Contract Management and Technical subject matter experts to understand applicable contracted rates, technical terms, market maintenance rates, and maintenance event interval timing.
-
Develop Technical Budgets for transitioning or repossessing aircraft, as needed and provide recommendations on cost reduction opportunities and/or risk mitigation initiatives to Deal Teams based on historical performance, current market conditions, and gained knowledge over time. Collaborate with Technical, Pricing, and Commercial teams to optimize incremental spend on existing aircraft, and with Accounting to ensure these costs are appropriately accrued, capitalized or expensed.
-
Collaborate with Pricing team on prospective deals involving aircraft in the portfolio (sales, lease extensions, and transitions). Provide detailed guidance on maintenance cash flows, expected condition of the aircraft at the end of the existing term, and optimal Technical terms (such as reserve rates and return condition) that optimize ROI for each asset. For prospective sale transactions, provide the anticipated maintenance condition as of the economic close date and highlighting any risks or opportunities in the future forecast cash flows.
-
Perform asset and contract due diligence for the acquisition of used aircraft, ensuring that all required utilization and technical financial data is complete and available. Coordinate with Aircraft Trading team on sale of ACG assets to ensure questions raised by potential buyers are addressed in a timely manner.
-
Complete ad-hoc projects related to the risk-adjusted performance of each aircraft in the portfolio. Be able to identify high-risk assets in the portfolio and provide insights to the Risk team to help mitigate financial exposure and downside risk.
-
Create, maintain and periodically update and refine analytical models to ensure accuracy, flexibility, and up-to-date assumptions. These models are the single source of maintenance cash flow forecasts for the company, and the SAA will be the primary accountable party for the availability, accuracy, and timeliness of these forecasts. The ability to build new, complex, and highly effective Excel models is a must.
