Part-Time Special Education Administrator
Must have: WA State Special Ed Certification
Students attend Brightmont Academy campuses for multiple reasons including; learning disabilities, attention deficits, emotional issues, health concerns or other individual special needs. Our students look to our instructors for better learning strategies needed for school and career success.
We are hiring two dedicated Special Education Administrators to collaborate with our district partners to support our students with IEPs, one to support our Seattle Northgate location and one to support our Sammamish and Redmond locations. Our customized one-teacher-to-one-student approach provides an opportunity to meet each student’s learning style within an accredited curricula program making a real difference one student, one class at a time.
This is a part-time opportunity with an expected average of 20-30 hours per week. Our school is open Monday - Friday from 8:00-5. A specific schedule allows for some flexibility and will be discussed in the interview process.
The Special Education Administrator will be responsible for the following:
Facilitate the provision of special education services to students that are placed with Brightmont from a district.
Attend all district-facilitated IEP meetings as the Brightmont representative, reporting on students’ progress.
Support teachers on specially designed instructional strategies for students with disabilities.
Assist in monitoring special education programs and related services to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations and local district policies and procedures.
Analyze data to establish appropriate goals and objectives in the context of improving academic achievement and social-emotional growth.
Facilitate special education students’ progress reviews with a focus on data monitoring of student achievement and continuous improvement.
Manage and complete any reporting requirements as needed by the district or OSPI for each student.
Monitor, evaluate, and ensure the implementation of Individual Education Programs and inclusive practices.
Oversee SBA administration for student caseload.
Collaborate with Campus Directors and District Representatives to assess and analyze the needs of individual students.
Consistently maintain positive relationships with Campus Directors, teachers, students, parents, and the larger community.
Maintain and protect the rights and confidentiality of others.
Perform additional duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Essential experiences and skills:
4 year Bachelor’s degree; Master’s degree preferred
Demonstrates proficiency of technology resources, tools, and curricula
Experience using G-Suite and Chromebooks
Administrative skills for lesson coverage, grades and pacing progress
Positive professional communication skills: written, verbal, and non-verbal
Able to provide quality and effective instructional strategies
Able to pass a federal background screening
Must possess a personal presence that is characterized by a sense of honesty, integrity and caring with the ability to inspire and promote the philosophy, mission, and pillars of Brightmont Academy.
This is a hybrid role as physical presence on the campus is required as part of the essential function of the job. The particular job duties of this position may change based upon the needs of Brightmont Academy. Additional administrative duties may be assigned at the discretion of the supervisor.
