INSTALLER AND SERVICE TECHNICIAN
Smart Start Michigan has a great opportunity for an experienced technician to join our team.
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Installation and service of interlock (BAIID) devices.
- Assist in inventory control
- Conduct training sessions covering use of Smart Start devices to clients.
- Maintain a positive and caring atmosphere for customers and employees
- Ability to think independently and work through service issues to closure
- High level of customer service
- Ability to maintain a clean and safe work environment
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Michigan Driver’s License
- Reliable transportation
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Possess excellent telephone skills
- Detail orientated
- Ability to remain calm under pressure
- Knowledge of 12-volt vehicle systems (car alarms/stereos) or mechanical experience preferred.
And have a minimum of the following tools:
- Wire strippers
- Wire crimpers
- Wire probe
- Cordless flashlight
- Small socket set
- Wrenches
- Pliers
- Multi-Meter
- Soldiering Iron
- Cordless drill
This is a full-time position, M-F 8:30am-5:00pm, no holidays or weekends. Candidates MUST be at least 18 years old, have a valid driver’s license, no felonies or alcohol related driving offenses in the past five years, and must pass a BAIID certified mechanic test. (Study guide and preparation provided prior to taking the test). Must be available to work 8:00am-5:00pm during training period.

Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
