American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a high-risk Postpartum unit position, requiring a minimum of 1 year of acute care postpartum experience and current BLS and NRP certifications.

Work on a 29-bed Women's Hospital Postpartum unit (Unit 660) in a high-volume hospital delivering 400–500 babies per month
-
High-risk postpartum patient population; low-risk patients are cared for at a separate off-site LDRP facility
-
Patient ratio of 3–4 couplets per RN
-
Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
-
EMR: Meditech and CPN
-
Equipment used includes Welch Allyn vitals machines, CPN monitors, and POC glucose monitoring devices
-
Unit staffing includes 1 charge nurse and 1 desk PCT per shift, with RN count based on census
-
13-week contract
-
Active KS RN license or compact RN license required
-
Current BLS (AHA or ARC accepted) required; must not expire within the first 30 days of assignment start

Current NRP (Advanced 9th Edition, American Academy of Pediatrics) required

Minimum 1 year of recent acute care postpartum hospital experience required

US SSN and DOB required for consideration

One professional reference required (two required if licensed in Florida or Missouri)

No gaps in work history of 90 days or more in the past 12 months

Typical procedures include POC glucose monitoring, breastfeeding support, postpartum hemorrhage management, circumcision assistance, and hypertension assessment and management

High-risk postpartum experience is preferred

Level 2 Nursery experience is a plus

Close-knit team of nurses and PCTs with a collaborative, team-oriented work environment

Scheduling is flexible, with a willingness to accommodate traveler needs

Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not eligible
