Position Description
The Credentialing and Continuing Certification Specialist I will support the administrative activities related to the Credentialing and Continuing Certification Program. By correctly applying and explaining ABA policy, this position will respond to verbal and routine written inquiries from constituents.
Education
Baccalaureate degree or comparable work experience.

Experience
- Minimum of three years of progressive experience in a professional office environment.

Significant experience and use of MS Office tools (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

Familiarity with healthcare, educational settings, medical specialty certifying boards or non-profit organizations a plus.

Prior credentialing experience a plus.

Prior data analysis experience a plus.
Specific Responsibilities
1. Written and Verbal Communications
-
Provides assistance and direction to constituents who are utilizing ABA systems.
-
Provides back-up telephone coverage for the Communications Services Department.

Creates documents and communicates internal policies and procedures for work related activities.
2. Resident Training
-
Supports training programs, residents, and fellows regarding ABA training requirements for Board certification.

Responds to RTID feedback from training programs regarding resident/fellow training issues.
-
Monitors training dashboard for training period and contact programs for overdue training reports until all reports are submitted.

Reviews and processes training reports that will not post automatically.

Processes training period unsatisfactory reports and communicates to programs and residents/fellows.
3. Registration Processing

Manages registration dashboard to verify completion of candidates’ requirements for entering the examination system.

Resolves discrepancies or errors during the evaluation process of registrations and corrects database information as needed.
4. Continuing Certification

Imports CME activities into diplomates’ database records.
-
Performs follow up on not clinically active diplomates.

Evaluates and processes simulation course data received from the American Society of Anesthesiologists, which includes resolving errors or discrepancies as back-up and as needed.
5. Other
-
Verifies medical licensure information for all diplomates on an as needed basis.

Assist management with documenting internal policies and procedures.

Assist in maintaining the department’s SharePoint Library.

Assist management with identifying system and database issues and suggesting improvements.

Assists in testing new or improved systems prior to launch.

Assist in training newly hired associates.

Performs miscellaneous mail merges.

Serves as APPLIED Examination staff if requested.
-
Other duties as assigned.
Special Requirements
Ability to lift up to 10 pounds on occasion; sit for extended periods of time and work onsite in Raleigh, at least two days/week.
