Overview
Seeking a highly professional executive level Legal Assistant with experience in Commercial Corporate & Tax Law. Must be well versed in preparing all types of legal documents, including drafting and reviewing legal documents such as corporate and tax documents, agreements, contracts, estate plans, etc.
Duties
- Provides confidential administrative support to attorneys.
- Receives, sorts and distributes incoming mail, faxes and deliveries.
- Performs typing assignments and transcribes dictation involving legal terminology.
- Responsible for file openings and closings.
- Establishes, maintains, processes and oversees files, correspondence, databases, records, certificates and/or other documents.
- Schedules appointments and performs other duties related to maintaining attorney schedules. Schedules and coordinates meetings, conferences, and teleconferences.
- Corresponds with clients, referral sources, and Firm employees to ensure each client matter is handled in a smooth and efficient manner.
- May assist assigned Attorney with tasks such as inputting timekeeping, reviewing proformas, etc.
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- A minimum of 3 years prior Legal Assistant experience at an Executive level, strongly preferred.
- Must be experienced in Commercial Corporate & Tax Law.
- High level of attention to detail and ability to create, compose and edit written communications and materials with accuracy
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a broad range of clients in a diverse community
- Must have a proactive executive-support mindset, be able to work under pressure, and be highly organized and task oriented to ensure deadlines are met.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Adobe PDF, DocuSign, Zoom
- Experience with NetDocs and Big Hand Dictation, a plus
- Proficient with redlining
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information
- Professional in appearance and manner
