Searching for a part-time feeder and barn hand for our small equine farm. We are a premier hunter/jumper barn. Looking for an individual who shares a passion for horses and is attentive to detail and wanting to build a positive relationship with our business.
Regular duties include:
- Distribution of grain/medications/supplements and prepping next shift meals
- Turnout, weather permitting
- Mucking stalls
- Distributing hay & water
- Scrubbing water troughs and water buckets
- Changing blankets and fly gear
- Barn tidying up
- Basic equine first-aid
- Periodically stacking hay from the loft
- Other various farm tasks
- Feeding/caring for barn cats
Requirements:
- MUST have PREVIOUS equine handling experience of multiple temperaments and basic equine care knowledge
- MUST be reliable
- Must be capable of lifting 50-75 pounds
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must display kindness and appropriate communication with owners and clients
Pay is hourly and determined based on level of experience. Riding opportunities may be considered for the right candidate. Background check or drug testing may be requested. Equine related job references required.
