We are seeking a dynamic and safety-conscious Commercial Driver's License (CDL) A Truck Driver to join our transportation team. Duties
- Safely operate tractor-trailers and other commercial vehicles, including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, and freight carriers.
- Load and unload cargo using manual handling techniques or equipment such as forklifts, ensuring proper securing and weight distribution.
- Navigate routes efficiently using GPS navigation systems, adhering to planned schedules and delivery windows.
- Comply with all FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations, DOT (Department of Transportation) rules, and hazardous materials regulations when applicable.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and report any maintenance issues promptly.
- Manage logistics cargo handling processes, including documentation, load securing, and delivery confirmation.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, deliveries, and vehicle inspections in accordance with regulatory standards.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues that arise during transit.
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving with a valid CDL A license.
- Proficiency in driving Auto transmission trucks and operating various truck types such as tractor-trailers, refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, and freight vehicles.
- Strong knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT rules, hazardous materials handling (including dangerous goods), and safety protocols.
- Skilled in route planning using GPS navigation tools for optimal delivery efficiency.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely when loading or unloading cargo.
- Experience with logistics cargo handling processes including load securing and documentation accuracy.
- Familiarity with forklift operation is a plus for loading/unloading operations at facilities.
- Excellent driving record with a focus on safety and compliance; previous delivery driver experience is preferred.
