Position Summary
St. Paul Elder Services is seeking a caring, creative, and dependable Life Enrichment Assistant to join our Community Services team. In this role, you will help create meaningful experiences and engaging activities for individuals living with dementia while supporting their physical, social, emotional, cognitive, and spiritual well-being.
You will have the opportunity to work across multiple programs, including Memory Connections, Memory Reflections, and Club Gabriel, providing person-centered engagement in a home and community-based setting.

What Will You Get to Do?

Enhance our Community Services team by working across multiple programs, including Memory Connections, Memory Reflections, and Club Gabriel.

Facilitate a variety of meaningful engagement programs for individuals living with dementia.

Provide activities that support participants' physical, psycho-social, cognitive, and spiritual well-being.

Adapt programs and activities based on the interests, abilities, and needs of participants.

Provide meaningful 1:1 engagement and support as needed.

Complete daily attendance documentation and provide informational updates to individual service plans as appropriate.

Communicate changes in participants' conditions to the Community Services Coordinator and/or families.

Assist members with ambulation, transfers, restroom needs, and other activities of daily living as needed.

Serve noon meals and snacks.

Maintain the cleanliness, safety, and welcoming atmosphere of the Memory Care Resource Center and Club Gabriel.

Develop and maintain positive relationships with team members, participants, and their families.

Coordinate with volunteers as needed to schedule and develop enriching programming.

Encourage participants to actively engage in activities, socialization, and community life.

Attend required in-services and educational programs.

Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA privacy and security requirements.

Follow organizational policies, procedures, safety practices, and the established chain of command.

Perform other related duties as assigned by the Community Services Coordinator.

Experience working with seniors in elderly care, assisted living, memory care, long-term care, skilled nursing, or rehabilitation is a plus.
Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Previous Personal Care Assistant (PCA) experience required.

Previous experience providing dementia care required.

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification preferred.

Experience with therapeutic engagement or activities preferred.

Ability to adapt to changing needs, moods, and behaviors.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a team.

Demonstrates maturity, good judgment, integrity, and a strong work ethic.
