We are seeking a detail-oriented and results-driven Third-Party Logistics (3PL) Dispatcher to join our growing logistics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for sourcing and booking reliable carriers, negotiating competitive freight rates, managing shipments from pickup through delivery, and ensuring excellent customer service. This role requires strong communication skills, knowledge of transportation logistics, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Source qualified carriers using load boards and transportation marketplaces.
- Vet and onboard carriers by verifying:
- FMCSA authority and operating status
- Insurance coverage
- Safety ratings and compliance history
- Carrier performance and reliability
- Negotiate freight rates with carriers while maintaining company profitability.
- Book trucks for available freight and ensure timely load coverage.
- Build and maintain relationships with carrier partners.
- Monitor shipments from pickup to delivery and proactively resolve issues.
- Track and update shipment status in the Transportation Management System (TMS).
- Communicate with customers, drivers, and carriers regarding load status, delays, and delivery updates.
- Ensure all required transportation documents, including rate confirmations and proof of delivery, are accurate and complete.
- Maintain compliance with company policies and transportation regulations.
- Identify opportunities to improve carrier capacity and reduce transportation costs.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in freight brokerage, logistics, dispatching, or transportation operations.
- Experience using major load boards such as DAT, Truckstop, or similar platforms.
- Knowledge of FMCSA regulations and carrier compliance requirements.
- Experience vetting carriers, including insurance verification and safety review.
- Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Transportation Management Systems (TMS).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working for a freight broker or third-party logistics (3PL) provider.
- Existing carrier network is a plus.
- Knowledge of dry van, reefer, flatbed, LTL, and specialized freight.
- Experience with carrier onboarding and compliance software.

Compensation
Compensation is competitive and based on experience. Performance-based incentives and bonuses may be available.
Pay: $25.89 - $31.18 per hour
