```Job Summary:
We are seeking a Food/Salad Prep to join our team in the food industry. As a Food/Salad Prep, you will play a crucial role in salad and dessert preparation and ensuring food safety. This Team member prepares all salads and desserts offered in the Deli and on our Salad Bar..
Duties:
- Prepare all salads and desserts according to specific recipes for offering in the Deli case and salad bar, always meeting product quality standards specific to Burkholder's Market.
- Reads and interprets recipes and measures ingredients correctly to maintain product quality standards of appearance, texture, size, and weight.
- Restocks all kitchen cases as requested - olives, pizza, dough, meat pies, etc.
- Wash, chop, and slice vegetables and fruits
- Measure and portion ingredients accurately
- Operates all equipment correctly and safely
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen area
- Follow food safety guidelines and procedures
- Assist with general kitchen tasks as needed
- Assists with Hot Bar, Salad Bar, Dishwashing and fryers as needed
- Performs other duties as requested or required.
Requirements:
- Knowledge of food safety practices and guidelines
- Basic cooking skills
- Ability to work on multiple tasks at the same time
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Previous experience in the culinary or food industry is a plus
- Ability to handle food safely and maintain cleanliness in the kitchen
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to be friendly and cheerful; interact and cooperate easily with team members and customers.
