PT Director of Children’s Ministry
Part-Time: 8-12 Hours/Week
Position Summary
The Director of Children’s Ministry (Grace Kids) provides leadership for our children's ministry by building and equipping volunteer teams, creating engaging Sunday environments, partnering with families, and helping children know, love, and follow Jesus in a safe, welcoming, and multicultural community. We desire Grace Kids to be one of the most meaningful times of a child's week—a place where children experience the love of Jesus, build lasting relationships, learn God's Word, and grow as disciples within a multicultural church family.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide vision, leadership, and oversight for Grace Kids.
- Recruit, train, schedule, and encourage children's ministry volunteers.
- Prepare and adapt Preschool and Elementary lessons in collaboration with the Grace Churches network.
- Ensure a safe, engaging, and well-organized ministry through appropriate policies, procedures, and classroom management.
- Create a welcoming experience for children and families—especially first-time guests—that reflects Grace Madison's multicultural vision, helping every family feel welcomed, connected, and invited into our church community.
- Manage ministry supplies, curriculum, and classroom resources.
- Participate in staff meetings, support church-wide events, and collaborate with the Location Pastor.
- Commit to membership and actively engage in the life of Grace Madison.

- Organized, dependable, self-motivated, and an effective communicator.
- Able to build healthy relationships with children, parents, volunteers, and staff while exercising wisdom, discretion, and confidentiality.
- Excited to serve in a multicultural church and cultivate a welcoming environment where children and families from every background can belong and grow in Christ.
- Must successfully complete a background check and comply with Grace Madison's child protection policies.
Preferred Experience
- Bachelor’s degree (preferred).
- Experience working with children and families.
- Experience in building and leading volunteer teams.

- Planning Center (scheduling volunteers and uploading curriculum)
- Google Workspace (Gmail, Drive, Docs, Slides, etc.)
Reports to:
This position is accountable to and is supervised by Grace Madison’s Location Pastor.
