AV Installation Technician is responsible for assisting a lead on the installation of audio/visual systems in a variety of customer environments. We are seeking a candidate with skills and abilities to install, diagnose and service audio visual equipment. The ability to work independently or as part of a team to install and troubleshoot AV systems is required. This is a full-time position with occasional overtime. Most work is performed Monday thru Friday from 7-4 with the potential for some evening and weekend work. Some overnight travel is required.
Basic Requirements:
- Meets or exceeds expectations in prior performance reviews.
- Minimum of 1-year AV experience preferred
Essential Duties and Accountabilities:
- Follow warehouse protocols for checkout of local inventory as well as cleanliness.
- Perform comprehensive, onsite audio-visual equipment installation, including low voltage wiring, trim-out, equipment rack setup, plasma/LCD, projectors and projection systems, media rooms, audio hardware, and speakers.
- Prepare and pre-wire racked systems and furniture in house as required (lecterns, etc…)
- Perform cable pull paths, diagnosis structural/room interior for efficient and optimum installations, crimp and terminate audio and video cables.
- Install Crestron, Extron and AMX control systems
- Install video conferencing system including Polycom, Cisco and Lifesize
- Assist with structural installation of displays, screens and projectors
- Travel to off-site locations as part of system installation is required
- Maintain professional work appearance and outstanding customer interaction
- Assist with the final testing and commissioning systems as part of handover to the end customer.
- Interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications and schematics
- Identify risks and provide specific solutions and recommendations to customers on most time and cost efficient methods
- Demonstrate resourcefulness in assessing and troubleshooting of issues and problems
- Inspect quality of finished projects to ensure conformation of all specifications and requirements
Physical and Mental Requirements:
- Must have the ability to sit, stand, stoop and bend for extended periods of time
- Must be self-motivated, positive in approach, professional and help create, develop and implement project process improvement(s).
- Must promote the Company culture and mission to all employees, vendors, clients and business partners.
- Must be able to act as the Company liaison for interface with customer representative(s).
- Must possess proven problem solving skills, critical thinking skills and the ability to effectively read, write and give oral presentation(s).
- Must be able to work at heights on a ladder and in confined spaces, lift up to 50 pounds and move up to 75 pounds.
