Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Child Care Assistant to support the development and well-being of children in our care environment. This role involves working closely with children of various ages, including infants, toddlers, and preschoolers, to foster a safe, engaging, and nurturing atmosphere. The ideal candidate will have experience in early childhood education and caregiving, with a strong focus on childhood development and behavior management. Responsibilities
- Assist in supervising and engaging children during daily activities, playtime, and learning sessions
- Support teachers and caregivers in implementing educational programs aligned with early childhood development principles
- Ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times, including administering basic first aid when necessary
- Help with diapering, feeding, and nap routines for infants and toddlers
- Foster positive behavior management strategies to promote respectful and cooperative interactions among children
- Maintain a clean, organized, and child-friendly environment in accordance with safety standards
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and team members to support children's individual needs
- Support children with disabilities or special needs by providing appropriate care and assistance as needed
- Participate in ongoing training related to childcare best practices, classroom management, and early childhood education
Requirements
- Prior experience working with children in settings such as daycare, preschool, babysitting, nannying, or classroom environments
- Knowledge of childhood development stages and age-appropriate activities for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers
- Certification in first aid and CPR is required.
- Experience working with children with disabilities or special needs is advantageous
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with children, parents, and team members
- Patience, compassion, and a genuine passion for caring for young children
- Ability to handle multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism
- Part-time position working Monday thru Friday and some Saturdays
