Job Summary
Xinquan Kentucky is seeking a dedicated and proactive EHS Safety Specialist to support the development and execution of environmental, health, and safety programs within our automotive manufacturing facility. This position will play a critical role in promoting a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations and company standards, and supporting safe manufacturing operations.
The ideal candidate will have experience in manufacturing safety, strong knowledge of workplace safety practices, and the ability to work collaboratively with production teams, leadership, and employees at all levels. This role will support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce workplace risks, improve safety performance, and maintain a safe and compliant work environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesSafety Program Management
- Support the implementation, administration, and continuous improvement of Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) programs.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and applicable federal, state, and local requirements.
- Conduct routine safety inspections, audits, and workplace observations to identify hazards and areas for improvement.
- Maintain accurate safety documentation, records, reports, and compliance tracking.
Workplace Safety & Risk Prevention
- Perform job hazard analyses (JHA/JSA) and recommend corrective actions.
- Identify unsafe conditions, behaviors, and potential workplace risks.
- Support incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.
- Assist with developing and improving safety procedures, work instructions, and training materials.
- Promote employee engagement and accountability through proactive safety communication.
Employee Training & Safety Culture
- Conduct safety orientations and training for new hires, contractors, and employees.
- Support daily safety meetings, toolbox talks, and safety awareness initiatives.
- Educate employees on PPE requirements, safe work practices, emergency procedures, and hazard prevention.
- Encourage employee participation in safety improvement programs.
Manufacturing & Production Support
- Provide EHS support to production, maintenance, quality, and engineering teams.
- Monitor compliance with manufacturing safety requirements, including machine safety, ergonomics, and workplace organization.
- Support implementation of safety improvements related to equipment, processes, and facility operations.
- Assist with contractor safety management and site safety requirements.
Environmental Compliance
- Support environmental compliance programs, including waste management, chemical handling, and environmental reporting.
- Maintain Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and chemical inventory records.
- Assist with hazardous material handling procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Support sustainability and environmental improvement initiatives.
Emergency Response & Preparedness
- Support emergency response procedures, drills, and safety exercises.
- Maintain emergency preparedness documentation.
- Assist with first aid, fire prevention, evacuation, and emergency response programs.
- Participate in incident response activities as needed.
Qualifications Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or related field preferred.
- Equivalent safety training, certifications, or relevant manufacturing experience considered.
Experience
- 2+ years of experience in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, or manufacturing safety preferred.
- Automotive manufacturing or Tier 1 supplier experience preferred.
- Experience supporting OSHA compliance, safety audits, and employee training preferred.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of OSHA standards and workplace safety regulations.
- Ability to conduct safety inspections, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and safety documentation systems.
- Ability to identify hazards and recommend practical solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
- OSHA 30-Hour General Industry certification preferred.
- First Aid/CPR certification preferred.
- Experience with Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), machine guarding, ergonomics, and PPE programs.
- Experience supporting IATF 16949 automotive manufacturing standards.
- Bilingual English/Mandarin communication skills preferred due to global operations.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to walk and stand throughout the manufacturing facility for extended periods.
- Ability to work in an industrial manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, equipment, and production activities.
- Ability to wear required PPE, including safety glasses, gloves, and protective equipment.
- Ability to occasionally lift and move materials or safety equipment up to 50 pounds.
