Job Overview
We are seeking experienced Road Building & Grading Crew Members—including both Operators and Skilled Laborers—to join our roadway & grading team to prepare, grade, and stabilize subgrades and aggregate bases for highway and commercial roadway projects ahead of the paving train.
Key Responsibilities
- Equipment Operation (Operators): Run finish motor graders, bulldozers, excavators, skid steers, and rollers to exact road profiles.
- Ground Support (Laborers): Set up stringlines, check grades with lasers/GPS rovers, shovel, rake, and direct equipment dumps.
- Site Preparation: Cut, fill, compact, and stabilize native soil and aggregate base materials.
- Safety Coordination: Maintain tight communication on the ground to work safely around active traffic and heavy machinery.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 2–3 years in highway, DOT roadway, or heavy civil earthwork construction.
- Blueprint Literacy: Ability to read civil engineering plans, cross-sections, and slope stakes.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift 50+ lbs, stand for long periods, and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Certifications: Valid driver's license with clean record. OSHA 10-Hour Certification is a plus.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work variable schedules, including night shifts or weekends, per project demands.
