The City of San Clemente is seeking a Human Resources Analyst II to join our small but mighty Human Resources team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced HR professional looking to expand their knowledge across multiple disciplines while helping shape the future of a highly engaged and service-oriented organization.

We are looking for a collaborative team member who can independently manage projects, think critically, communicated effectively, and provide exceptional customer service to employees, applicants, and other stakeholders.
Definition To perform a wide variety of responsible and complex professional human resources functions and analytical duties related to recruitment, classification and compensation, records management, leave administration, benefits, workers' compensation and other personnel and/or risk management programs; to survey, research and evaluate human resources practices, programs, and procedures; to provide information and assistance to the public and other departments for assigned programs and services; and to perform other work, as appropriate. The classification is designated as Confidential, since it has regular access to labor relations information and conducts work in support of the City's labor relations activities. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES This position will play a key role in:

Full-cycle recruitment and selection activities

Classification and compensation studies

Benefits administration and employee support

Working out-of-class assignments and personnel actions

Human Resources records management and compliance

Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) administration

Employee onboarding and organizational development initiatives

Special projects and process improvement efforts

The selection process will consist of an oral interview and a technical writing assignment to be evaluated as part of the Oral Interview process. The oral interview is weighted at 100%.
