Integrated Talent Strategies (ITS) is seeking Plant Maintenance Workers to work with a top energy and utility company in the Winfield, WV area. This company is highly reputable with several awards for growth, equality, and safety.
Job Summary
Perform manual labor and custodial duties in a power plant to maintain a clean, safe, and neat facility. This position will support general plant maintenance, including cleaning, snow removal, and filling kerosene heaters as needed.
Essential Job Functions & Tasks
- Sweep, wash, clean, and paint buildings, floors, and equipment.
- Wash down concrete slab areas and roadways around the plant to remove coal/ash dust and sludge.
- Shovel coal spillage onto conveyors.
- Remove trash from the facility and clean spills throughout the plant.
- Perform snow removal as needed.
- Fill kerosene heaters and perform other general labor duties as assigned.
- Properly use tools and equipment required for assigned duties.
- Follow all applicable plant operating procedures, safety practices, and environmental guidelines.
- Report unsafe conditions or practices to appropriate personnel.
Education Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Less than one year of experience required.
Other Requirements
Must have a valid driver's license.
- Must be willing to work 40 hours per week with rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be willing and able to respond to callouts during outage and non-outage periods to support business operations.
- Ability to learn and follow plant operating instructions, safety procedures, and environmental guidelines.
- Ability to read and understand written instructions and manuals.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Professional interaction with employees, contractors, and others.
- Must be able to safely learn and operate tools and equipment associated with the position.
- Must follow all required safety practices and use appropriate PPE.
- Must be dependable and able to work in a physically demanding industrial environment.
