Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and versatile Barn & Facility Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for helping maintain the safety, functionality, and cleanliness of our facilities, grounds, and pastures. Your work will ensure a well-organized and safe environment for the people we serve and our horses.
Duties
- Morning chores-filling grain bowls and bringing horses inside
- Feeding hay outside
- Taking out horses that aren’t needed for class
- Sweeping barn aisle
- Feeding class horses hay and water in stalls
- Cleaning outdoor automatic waters weekly
- Breaking ice on all outdoor waters in the winter
- Dragging and watering arena -ensuring arena is dragged before class
- General upkeep of arena dirt- re-leveling dirt as needed
- Ensuring diesel and gas cans for tractor and ATVs are full- utilizing the Nosey Neighbor van to go get gas when needed
- Cleaning out hay from ATVs as needed
- Using tractor to stack large ton bales when delivered
- Stacking small bales when delivered- with help from other staff
- Sweeping hay barn as needed
- Dragging pastures as needed with ATV and metal drag
- Cleaning dry lots as needed
- Adding sand to horse shelters as needed
- Hooking up manure spreader and emptying out manure pile as needed
- Ensuring wheelbarrows are well kept and have air in the tires for staff and work groups
- General property maintenance- mowing, raking, weed eating, etc.
- Repairing pasture fencing as needed
- Bush hogging pastures and back property as needed
- Washing all Vehicles, Trailer, Van, Gator, Kubota, Tractor, Lawn Mower. Also making sure all the vehicles are serviced and in good working order
- Maintain landscaped areas by pulling weeds and trimming shrubs or trees
Pay: $17.00 per hour
