Michael Anthony's Cucina Italiana, in business for over 20 years with a large and loyal customer base, is seeking full-time Servers with proven fine dining or casual dining experience. Server Qualifications:
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
- A minimum of three years server experience working in a professional dining environment, good knowledge of fine wines, dining etiquette and appropriate steps of service
- Knowledge of Italian cuisine is a major plus
- Customer service-driven professionalism and an outgoing personality
- Ability to multi-task and remain calm under pressure
- NOT accepting seasonal or part time applicants
- Prior experience with Toast or other POS systems a plus
- Team player
- Ability to be proactive (rather than just reactive) to meet customers' high expectations
- Sense of urgency
Server Responsibilities:
- Performs opening/closing side work.
- Presents menus to guests and answers any questions regarding menu items, beverages, and any other restaurant functions or services. Informs guests of any menu changes or specials of the day and makes appropriate recommendations.
- Detailed narrations of how menu items are prepared, describing ingredients and cooking methods.
- Develops a working knowledge of our wine lists, including the Private Reserve list. Describes and recommends wines to customers as well as presenting them properly.
- Develops a working knowledge of our craft cocktails and how to make them.
- Assists in serving food to high standards by ensuring that all dishes are presented correctly and in a timely manner.
- Checks on guests during their meal to ascertain satisfaction levels. Immediately reports any issues or complaints directly to the FOH manager to ensure that any issues can be corrected to the customer's satisfaction.
Server Requirements:
- Must be able to speak English fluently
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time and climb stairs frequently
- Reliable transportation is required
