As an Oligo Bioanalytical Scientist, you will be working alongside a small team of highly motivated scientists. Responsible for oligonucleotide bioanalytical assay development, you will help influence the advancements of science, your career, and a growing biotechnology start-up.
Responsibilities
- Build internal oligo bioanalytical capabilities and lead external client projects focused on PK, PD, biomarker or immunogenicity of siRNA/ASO therapeutics.
- Design and execute oligo bioanalytical assays, including SL-qPCR/ddPCR, hybridization ELISA, RISC loading assay and protein-based assays (ELISA, JESS, MSD, IHC).
- Establish in-house workflow to process animal tissues and extract DNA, RNA, and protein for downstream assays.
- Leverage depth of knowledge to analyze and interpret assay data; prepare reports and communicate results to clients on a regular basis.
- Support internal instrument validation, assay optimization, and SOP development.
- Participate in client-based project meetings as subject matter expert and support new project onboarding, planning and progress discussions.
Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biochemistry, or a related field.
- 0–3 years of relevant industry experience in a CRO, biotechnology, or pharmaceutical setting, with demonstrated achievements.
- Hands-on experience with qPCR, ddPCR, JESS, ELISA, MSD, IHC and other immunoassays.
- Proven experience with animal tissues processing and homogenization, nucleic acid/protein extraction and immunoprecipitation.
- Experience with cell-based assay is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of primer-probe design, oligo thermodynamic properties and chemical modifications is preferred.
- Experience with LC-MS for oligo quantification (e.g., siRNA, ASO) is a plus.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
