Travel RN - Telemetry - Direct Observation Unit

Job Details

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for an Observation Unit position on night shift, no prior experience required.

32-bed Observation Unit affiliated with the ED for patients expected to stay less than 24 hours
Patient population includes chest pain, cardiac arrhythmias, heart catheterizations, laparoscopic cholecystectomies, UTIs, and DVTs
Provider on-site 7a-5p daily
3rd shift schedule, 7p-7a
12-hour shifts, 3 days per week, 36 hours per week
0.9 FTE

Active, unrestricted RN license (IN or compact) required
BLS and ACLS certifications required
ADN or ASN required, BSN preferred
No prior experience required
Proficiency in medication administration, wound care, IV therapy, and use of medical equipment
Strong assessment, critical thinking, and prioritization skills in a fast-paced environment

Deliver holistic, patient and family-centered nursing care across all phases of the nursing process
Perform comprehensive assessments, develop prioritized problem lists, and implement individualized care plans
Facilitate admission, transfer, and discharge activities including discharge teaching and coordination with Case Management
Delegate and oversee care activities performed by other team members
Participate in unit-based quality improvement activities such as patient satisfaction, falls prevention, and documentation audits
Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams and communicate clearly with patients and families
