Elbers Landscape Service is hiring a Park Supervisor to lead daily maintenance operations at Ralph Wilson Park in Buffalo, NY.
This is a hands-on supervisory role responsible for crew leadership, site quality, safety, and day-to-day coordination across a large, high-visibility public park. The park includes athletic fields, landscaped areas, shoreline features, pathways, and a wide range of trees and plantings.
We are looking for someone with strong landscape and turf experience who can lead by example, set clear expectations, and help maintain a clean, safe, and well-presented property year-round.
What You'll Do

Lead and support a grounds crew, beginning with approximately 5 team members and growing over time

Plan and oversee daily maintenance activities throughout the park

Work alongside the crew as needed in a working supervisor role

Maintain quality standards across lawns, athletic fields, planting beds, pathways, shoreline areas, and public spaces

Oversee litter and debris management across the property, including high-traffic and waterfront areas

Support turf care, tree and shrub care, seasonal cleanup, and general landscape maintenance

Coordinate winter and snow operations as needed

Assign work, monitor productivity, and help keep crews on schedule

Maintain digital maintenance logs, work records, and related documentation

Reinforce jobsite safety expectations and support ongoing crew training

Communicate site needs, issues, and priorities with Elbers management
What We're Looking For
-
5+ years of experience in landscape maintenance, athletic field management, grounds management, or related work
-
2+ years of experience leading a crew or supervising field operations
-
Strong working knowledge of turf, trees, shrubs, perennials, and seasonal grounds care
-
Experience operating landscape and grounds equipment
-
Ability to manage both field responsibilities and crew leadership

Strong attention to detail and a high standard for site presentation and follow-through
-
Ability to work outdoors for extended periods in a range of weather conditions

Valid New York State driver's license
Preferred Experience and Training
You do not need experience in every area below, but background in any of the following would be a plus:

Professional snow and ice management

SIMA training or certification

Training or certification through NYSNLA or NALP

ISA arboriculture training

NYS DEC 3A Aquatic Vegetation certification

Degree or certificate in horticulture or a related field
