Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Domestic Support Assistant to support two working professionals on a part-time basis, working between 10 to 12 hours per week on a flexible schedule. The goal of this position is to assist this family with routine and one-off domestic tasks; providing reliable, compassionate, and efficient domestic support. As a Domestic Support Assistant, you will help create a safe, clean, and welcoming environment, ensuring that clients’ needs are met with professionalism and care.
Responsibilities
- Assist with daily household tasks such as cleaning, tidying, laundry, and meal preparation to promote a comfortable living environment.
- Maintain landscaping and lawn care for the home.
- Complete laundry and other routine housekeeping tasks
- Support clients with personal care activities in accordance with their individual care plans
- Maintain clear communication with team members and supervisors regarding client needs and any concerns that arise
- Follow health and safety protocols diligently to ensure a safe environment for clients and staff
- Document support activities accurately and report any significant changes or issues promptly
- Contribute to creating an inclusive, respectful atmosphere that promotes independence and dignity for all clients
Qualifications
- Previous experience in domestic support, caregiving, or related roles is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trusting relationships with clients
- Excellent communication skills to effectively understand and respond to client needs
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a flexible manner
- Basic knowledge of health and safety procedures relevant to domestic support roles
- Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to assist others in maintaining their independence and quality of life
