Duties
- Assist lead teachers in planning and executing age-appropriate activities that promote childhood development and learning.
- Support children with daily routines such as meal times, diaper changes, naps, and hygiene practices, ensuring safety and comfort at all times.
- Engage children in play-based learning experiences that encourage social skills, creativity, and cognitive development.
- Monitor children’s behavior and provide positive guidance to foster good conduct and emotional regulation.
- Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment by sanitizing toys, surfaces, and materials regularly.
- Observe and document children’s progress, communicating any concerns or notable achievements to supervising staff.
- Follow all mandated reporting laws and health & safety protocols to ensure compliance and protect the well-being of children.
Skills
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices.
- Experience working with young children in daycare, preschool, babysitting, nannying or similar settings.
- Familiarity with classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies.
- Certification in first aid and pediatric first aid to respond effectively to emergencies.
- Ability to work with individuals with disabilities or special needs using inclusive teaching methods.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with team members, parents, and caregivers effectively.
- Understanding of mandated reporting laws related to child safety and protection.
