Position Summary
We are seeking a Tax Manager who is technically strong, highly organized, and genuinely enjoys mentoring others, improving processes, and delivering exceptional client service.
This position involves reviewing federal partnership tax returns, Puerto Rico tax returns for affordable housing entities. The ideal candidate is someone who values quality over speed, communicates effectively, takes ownership of assignments, and enjoys working in a collaborative environment where continuous learning is encouraged.
What You'll Do
- Review federal partnership income tax returns (Form 1065) and related schedules.
- Review Puerto Rico partnership and corporate income tax returns, PPT, VOB.
- Review workpapers prepared by staff and provide constructive coaching and feedback.
- Ensure compliance with professional standards, firm policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate engagements from planning through completion.
- Communicate directly with clients regarding information requests, technical matters, and project status.
- Research complex accounting and tax issues and develop practical solutions.
- Assist in developing and improving internal templates, processes, and quality control procedures.
- Mentor junior staff and contribute to their professional development.
- Manage multiple engagements while maintaining high-quality deliverables and meeting deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications
- CPA license (desirable)
- Public accounting experience with tax engagements.
- Experience reviewing federal partnership tax returns.
- Experience with Puerto Rico tax compliance.
- Familiarity with Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) projects is a significant plus, although candidates with strong partnership tax and audit experience who are eager to learn are encouraged to apply.
