Position Overview
We are currently seeking dedicated and compassionate Paraprofessionals to join school teams in the Westminster, Colorado area for the 2026-2027 school year. This position plays a vital role in supporting students' academic, social, and behavioral growth while assisting teachers and Learning Specialists in creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
The ideal candidate is passionate about education, student success, and collaboration, with the ability to provide both instructional and administrative support in special education and general education settings.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Co-teach and support small-group instruction in resource classrooms under the direction of Learning Specialists.
- Pull students for testing and assist with assessment administration.
- Manage and monitor online learning programs.
- Prepare and organize reading and math lesson materials, assessments, and instructional supplements.
- Collect classroom IEP summaries and prepare files for the upcoming school year.
- Maintain and organize progress-monitoring data and student records within IEP working files.
- Prepare and distribute Notices of Meeting and other special education documentation.
- Mail Notices of Meeting, Consent for Evaluations, Parent Rights information, and related documents.
- Finalize Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), including copying, filing, distribution, and records management.
- Enter demographic information, grades, and other required data into initial IEP documentation.
- Assist students with work-completion goals by providing support, monitoring progress, and documenting participation.
- Provide push-in support within general education classrooms based on student needs and scheduling requirements.
- Support students academically, behaviorally, and socially in classroom settings.
- Monitor and supervise students during lunch, recess, breaks, transitions, and other non-instructional periods.
- Assist with special projects and school-wide initiatives.
- Administer basic first aid when appropriate and accompany students to the clinic or nurse as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Must meet Colorado paraprofessional qualification requirements through one of the following:
- Completion of at least 48 semester hours of college coursework; or
- Associate's degree or higher from an accredited institution; or
- Successful completion of the ParaPro Assessment.
- Ability to successfully pass all required background checks and district hiring requirements.
- Previous experience working with children, students, or individuals with special needs preferred.
- Experience supporting students with IEPs and diverse learning needs preferred.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive student information.
- Proficiency with educational technology and data-management systems.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, Learning Specialists, administrators, students, and families.
- Demonstrated patience, professionalism, flexibility, and commitment to student success.
