American Traveler seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist with 7 years of experience for a hospital surgical services position specializing in General/GYN/DaVinci procedures.
-
Work in a hospital surgical services department with 15 OR suites, including hybrid and cardiothoracic rooms, plus PACU, sterile supply, and support areas

General/GYN/DaVinci surgical case types
-
18-week contract with day shift hours, Monday through Friday, 0630-1500
-
On-call requirement of 1 to 2 nights per week, every 4th weekend

Must be willing to float to other specialties as needed

Minimum of 7 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist

Completion of a CAAHEP or ABHES accredited Surgical Tech program, or completion of a Surgical Technologist program in the U.S. Armed Forces

BLS certification required
-
NBSTSA Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or NCCT Tech in Surgery-Certified (TS-C) required

License required if applicable

Strong communication and collaboration skills with a professional, team-oriented approach

Serve as primary scrub person or assistant for operative procedures

Prepare and set up cases, ensuring instruments and supplies are sterilized and available

Pass instruments, assist the physician, and maintain the sterile field throughout the case

Perform instrument, sponge, and sharps counts and collaborate with the circulating nurse on patient positioning and interventions

Complete post-case cleanup, including gross decontamination of instruments and proper transport to Central Sterile Processing

Ensure surgical suites are disinfected, restocked, and ready for the next procedure

Complete all mandatory hospital education and maintain compliance with HR and Employee Health requirements
