Responsibilities
- Operate the cash register accurately, handling all retail sales transactions with precision and efficiency.
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering questions, and assisting with product selections.
- Conduct product demos when needed to highlight features and benefits, encouraging additional sales through upselling techniques.
- Manage cash drawer handling responsibly, ensuring proper cash handling procedures are followed at all times.
- Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, restocking supplies and merchandising products to enhance the shopping experience.
- Use POS (Point of Sale) systems confidently to process transactions, returns, exchanges, and refunds.
- Demonstrate strong communication skills by engaging customers professionally over the phone and in person, including phone etiquette.
- Support stocking efforts by assisting with inventory management and ensuring shelves are well-stocked and visually appealing.
- Assist in merchandising displays to promote store products effectively and attract customer attention.
- Participate in product demos or promotional events to educate customers about new or featured items.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth store operations, including supervising or mentoring new staff when applicable.
Requirements
- Previous experience in cashiering or retail sales is preferred; supervisory experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with POS systems, cash register operations, and retail math for accurate transactions.
- Strong basic math skills for handling cash accurately and balancing cash drawers at shift end.
- Excellent communication skills with a friendly demeanor; bilingual abilities are highly desirable for serving diverse customers.
- Knowledge of retail store product knowledge, merchandising principles, and upselling techniques.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Experience with cashiering duties such as cash handling, retail sales transactions, and customer service excellence.
- Demonstrated phone etiquette skills when engaging with customers over the phone or via other communication channels.
