Freestyle Apparel & Design is looking for a dependable, detail-oriented Embroidery Machine Operator to join our growing team in Springfield, Illinois.
We are a locally owned screen printing and embroidery company serving businesses, schools, teams, organizations, and individuals throughout the Springfield area. We take pride in producing high-quality work, providing excellent customer service, and maintaining a friendly, team-oriented workplace.
We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, pays attention to the details, and can help us keep embroidery jobs moving efficiently while maintaining the quality our customers expect.
Responsibilities
- Operate commercial multi-head embroidery equipment
- Set up embroidery jobs, including thread colors, hoops, backing/stabilizers, and garment placement
- Properly hoop garments, hats, bags, and other embroidered items
- Load and run embroidery files according to work orders
- Monitor machines during production and make adjustments as needed
- Perform thread changes, bobbin changes, needle changes, and basic machine adjustments
- Inspect finished embroidery for quality, placement, color, and accuracy
- Trim, clean, fold, and prepare completed garments for customer orders
- Read and follow job tickets and production instructions carefully
- Keep embroidery equipment and the surrounding work area clean and organized
- Assist with basic machine maintenance and troubleshooting
- Work with our screen printing and production team to keep orders on schedule
- Help with other production duties when needed
What We're Looking For
Previous commercial embroidery experience is strongly preferred. Experience operating multi-head embroidery machines is especially valuable.
The ideal candidate will be:

- Able to maintain quality while working at a productive pace
- Organized and able to manage multiple jobs and deadlines
- Comfortable working with different garment types, fabrics, hats, and embroidery placements
- Able to recognize and correct embroidery quality issues
- Willing to communicate and work as part of a small team
- Someone who takes pride in producing a great finished product
Experience with embroidery software, machine setup, basic troubleshooting, or commercial apparel production is a plus. Please include any embroidery equipment or software you have experience with when applying.
Schedule
Full-Time, Monday–Friday
This is a consistent weekday position with regular full-time hours. No nights or weekends are normally required.
Compensation
Pay is based on embroidery experience, skill level, and ability.
We are willing to pay competitively for someone with strong commercial embroidery experience who can step in and contribute to our production team.
