JOB SUMMARY:
The Accounting Manager oversees the Accounting Department functions with a focus on ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of financial statements and reporting. Generally, have several direct reports and work to allocate tasks evenly across the team. Is responsible for driving team performance and getting the most out of individual contributors, leading and motivating accounting staff members and increasing department accuracy and efficiency. The Accounting Manager delegates, supervises, and participates in accounting department tasks, oversee the recording, tracking and reporting of financial information, trains, develops and implements department controls and procedures, and ensures that the department operates efficiently without sacrificing accuracy.
To succeed as an Accounting Manager, you should be analytical, detail-oriented and honest. The ideal Accounting Manager should possess excellent leadership and interpersonal skills as well as strong understanding of accounting and management principal and financial legislation.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Oversees and manages the general accounting functions, including but not limited to accounts payable, accounts receivables, general ledger, and taxes.
2. Access current practices and procedures and make recommendations.
3. Prepares, reviews, and analyzes financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness.
4. Supervises and or/manages general ledger accounting functions.
5. Work with external auditors to ensure correct and timely closing and reporting at year-end.
6. Trains and motivates accounting staff members while supervising and delegating department tasks.
7. Evaluates, develops, and improves department controls, systems, and procedures that increase accuracy and efficiency.
8. Oversees the daily activities of the department and ensures that all major projects, month-end, and year-end reports are completed accurately and on time.
9. Analyses financial data and creates reports for managers, stakeholders, and external parties, such as vendors or lenders.
10. Maintains accurate and complete financial records and participating in audits or reconciliations, as needed.
11. Ensures that all accounting processes align with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and current financial legislation.

3. Monitors month-end reports, schedules, payments, and receipts.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
This job operates in an office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopies, and filling cabinets. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. Bachelor's degree with a major in Accounting, Finance or related field.
2. Knowledge of technical and professional principles and skills of accounting.
3. Knowledge of appropriate management and supervisory skills.
4. Ability to communicate both orally and in writing, and ability to maintain good working relationships with co-workers.
5. Exceptional math skills.
6. High level of efficiency and accuracy.
7. Attention to detail and the ability to analyze large amounts of data.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $130,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
