Duties
- Operate tractor-trailers, including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, and tankers, on over-the-road (OTR) routes ensuring timely deliveries across regional or national destinations
- Navigate using GPS systems to optimize routes and meet delivery schedules efficiently
- Load and unload freight safely, adhering to logistics cargo handling protocols and manual handling procedures
- Transport hazardous materials and dangerous goods in compliance with hazardous materials regulations and FMCSA standards
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with DOT regulations
- Manage truck loading and unloading processes, ensuring proper securing of freight for safe transit
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, deliveries, and vehicle maintenance in accordance with DOT and FMCSA regulations
Qualifications
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with endorsements for Hazmat, Tanker, or Refrigerated cargo preferred
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including delivery driving and route driving with manual transmission vehicles
- Familiarity with GPS navigation systems and logistics cargo handling techniques
- Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT standards, hazardous materials regulations, and safety protocols for dangerous goods
- Experience operating tractor-trailers such as flatbeds, tankers, or refrigerated trailers in over-the-road settings
- Ability to manually handle freight during loading/unloading processes while maintaining safety standards
- Strong understanding of truck loading/unloading procedures and freight security practices
