JOB SUMMARY:

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance tasks to ensure the facility, equipment, and systems are in safe and working condition.
- Assist with basic repairs including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC, and other building systems as needed.
- Respond to maintenance requests from staff and residents in a timely and professional manner.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of facility areas, including common spaces, maintenance areas, and work sites.
- Perform grounds upkeep and outdoor facility maintenance such as mowing, trimming, snow removal, and debris cleanup when required.
- Assist with setup and breakdown of furniture, equipment, and rooms for events or changes in facility use.
- Take inventory of maintenance supplies and tools; restock or report low inventory to supervisor.
- Follow all facility policies including safety procedures, infection control, and regulatory compliance.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in maintenance or related field preferred.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Basic knowledge of general maintenance tasks including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC, groundskeeping, and equipment upkeep; willingness to learn and grow skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a professional attitude when interacting with residents, staff, and supervisors.
- Physical stamina and ability to perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, bending, lifting (up to approximately 50 lbs. or more), climbing, and using hand and power tools as required.
- Comfortable working in a long-term care or skilled nursing environment; previous maintenance experience preferred but not required.
- Dependable attendance, reliability, and ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team while upholding facility safety, regulatory, and cleanliness standards.
