KITE Academy is seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and energetic Part-Time Teacher to support students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). In this role, you will design and implement individualized learning plans, lead a supportive classroom, and guide paraprofessionals to foster academic, behavioral, and social-emotional growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Instruction & Curriculum: Design, adapt, and implement lesson plans tailored to meet the unique learning needs of students with ASD.
- Progress Monitoring: Conduct formal and informal assessments to track student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
- Evidence-Based Practices: Utilize effective instructional and behavior management strategies, including principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), to promote growth.
- Team Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and provide feedback to a team of paraprofessionals to maintain effective classroom support.
- Classroom Environment: Maintain a structured, positive, and safe learning environment that encourages student independence.
- Communication: Maintain clear, regular communication with parents/guardians regarding student goals and achievements.
- Operations & Administration: Manage data collection, record-keeping, and resource organization.
- Professional Growth: Stay informed on current research, strategies, and best practices in special education and autism support.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field required (Teaching, Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, etc.).
- Certification: Teaching certification is NOT required.
- Experience:
- Prior experience working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
- Experience with behavior management strategies.
- Special Education experience preferred.
- Experience with Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles preferred.
- Skills: Excellent leadership, organizational, and time-management skills; strong written and verbal communication.
