# Skilled Fabricator – Hard Surfaces (Marble, Granite & Quartz)
**Darkstar Marble and Granite | Dayton, OH | Full-Time**
Darkstar Marble and Granite is looking for an experienced hard surface fabricator to join our shop team. We build custom countertops, backsplashes, and commercial surfaces in granite, marble, quartz, and quartzite — and we need someone who takes pride in clean, precise work from raw slab to finished piece.
## What You'll Do
- Finish out CNC-cut work and hand-polish edges that can't run on the machine
- **Assemble and glue mitre edges** — including straight runs, returns, waterfalls, and wraparounds on both standard and commercial jobs
- Perform honing and leathering on finished surfaces
- Read and follow shop sheets and job paperwork accurately
- Identify and work with a range of materials — granite, marble, quartz, quartzite, and exotic stone — and know what each one needs
- Repair chips, cracks, and staining on standard materials
- Operate shop equipment including router, marmo splash machine, bridge saw, radial arm saw, and vacuum lifts
- Stage and package finished pieces correctly for our install crews
- Keep your work area safe, organized, and ready for the next job
## What We're Looking For
- **High proficiency in stone fabrication** — this isn't an entry-level role; we need someone who already knows their way around a fab shop
- Hands-on experience assembling and gluing mitre edges
- Strong eye for detail and consistent, high-quality finish work
- Comfortable reading shop drawings and job paperwork
- Reliable, on time, and works well as part of a team
- Ability to safely lift and maneuver heavy stone slabs and finished pieces
- Forklift experience a plus (certification available on the job)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 – 50.0 per week
